In addition to its regular lists of the world’s wealthiest business and individuals, Forbes also has some fun by putting together a list of the wealthiest fictional characters. This year’s recently revealed list – topped by Carlisle Cullen from the Twilight series of books – includes one fictional character with a dental connection: the tooth fairy.
According to Forbes‘ analysis –
Net worth estimates are based on an analysis of the fictional character’s source material, and valued against known real-world commodity and share price movements. In the case of privately held fictional concerns, we sought to identify comparable fictional public companies. All prices are as of market close, April 12, 2010.
– the tooth fairy’s net worth is $3.9 billion. And where did much of that wealth come from? A “multibillion-dollar grant from Santa Claus,” naturally! According to Forbes, the
endowment [was] sufficient to finance annual tooth collection duties out of interest alone; Claus insisted on legally binding covenant forbidding spendthrift “Toothie” from touching principal, noting she blew through $145 million last year, mostly in very small cash gifts.
For the record, her net worth ranks her squarely midlist at number 8, flanked by Bruce Wayne (7) and Thurston Howell, III (9).
